Pakefield Coast Watch

What did we do

We were approached by a member of the Pakefield Coast Watch Charity Committee, the original site (images below) was very old, and it had been some years since the website last had an update. We were asked what we could do to help them update the site and make it easy to manage in the future, so we suggested WordPress, primarily for its ease of use and being able to add blogs & articles easily, ideal for non-technical people.

We looked at the old site and discussed what the main goal was, and that was to seek volunteers, so we based the site around volunteer CTA's (Call To Actions) to make this really prominent.

We also wanted to celebrate the history of the Light house and whilst the old site had information regarding its history, it was not made in an SEO friendly way so people looking for that information would not easily find it.

You can see that the new website is clean, modern, responsive across different screen sizes and most importantly, gets the message across that they are seeking volunteers.

We also went a step further and completed the site update on their own server, this meant we had to install WordPress, migrate from the testing domain to the live domain and ensure all the required software is present and up to date. The website now is running really well, receiving daily views and had its first volunteer enquire on the third day of it being live!
